Final verdict for Kasab on Feb 21 AT LAST

A terrorist kills hundreds of innocent people which is captured by CCTVs and is witnessed by other human beings and yet it takes more than two years to convict him and provide punishment to him. I do believe that Judiciary should move with its own pace to provide a fair trial but the trade off between time taken to pronounce judgements and sense of fair trial is a delicate one and the Indian judiciary needs to debate about it, evolve new forms of adjudication and set an example to the whole society.

The legislature also has a role to play by replacing the archaic laws with modern ones that have become inevitable to the structure and needs of modern society. Something along these lines can be read from an article in The Hindu dated 7th February 2011 titled “Retooling laws for Justice“.
